Hey lou,
What about the LDG ones? Those are s'posta be fairly decent.
But hey, then there's those other new ones from somewhere or other the ARRL talked about from Dayton.
Thanks for the heads up on the MFJ tuners, though. I reckon I won't
buy one. (I got a cheaper power supply than theirs from a lesser-known
brand, and it works like a champ! Jetstream 28-amp peak/25 amp
continuous (I think that's right...) Binding posts on the front, along
with a cigarette lighter socket (also on the front), and low-current
spring terminals on the back...you know...sort of like those things on
the back of your boom box that you connect your detachable speakers
to. $80, and as I say--not a hint of trouble out of it. Runs real
quiet, too, very quiet running fan. They've a 45-amp one for a bit
more, and I'd definitely give it a good think if I needed to run a
couple radios at once.
But back to autotuners. I don't own one. I expect if I did, I'd get
spoiled by it real quick, though.
