Is their another alternative to the MC60A?

I would like to use another mic other than the hand mic.

  Run a wire from the base of the mike to a ground, possibly on the side of the 
  Kenwood chasis.

  They are notorious for floating RF in those mikes.  I think it is the way the 
  PTT circuit is wired.  But, the ground will solve it.
