I saw a figure of 1.2 billion to subsidize converters and am curious how
many converters that could effect? I suspect not much for the ones that
it will cover. Another boondoggle for big business.

Hi,
Actually, I'm looking forward to the new digital TV. The transmission
uses 10 percent of the power of the old analog transmitters and the
picture and audio is improved assuming that you have a good signal to
decode.
The government is supposed to offer special price breaks for converter
boxes for older TVs and most cable and all satellite channels are
already digital.
