I have been gluten free 4 yrs.,am very sensitive I believe, as I was undiagnosed for 59yrs. & now am desperately ill (advanced stages Lupus & scleroderma, severe spinal stenosis, vertebral fractures, many other bone fractures, torn rotator cuffs, corneal dystrophy & much pain in my bones.)
I was doing fairly well on the gluten free diet & after 2 yrs. was able to tolerate lactose again.
Now I have developed severe gas, bloating, & bouts of diarrhea.
I am curious if other celiacs have had same problem after being GF for a time & how are you handling it. I drink lots of water (at least 64 oz. per day), take a probiotic w/pancreatic enzymes & acidophilus The water & probiotics seem to help a little. But I still have severe bloating & pain higher in my digestive tract.
I watch my diet very carefully for gluten, eat smaller meals, don't eat late at night, have avoided sugar as much as possible.
