My health insurance carrier arbitrarily changed my osteoporosis drug from
Actonel to Fosomax. (because they make the drug). I talked to my rheumatologist
about it and he told me they had to give me a choice. But the most
important thing he told me was that Fosomax can cause osteonecrosis of the jaw and
this medical condition can't be reversed. That said, I called Medco and asked
them to change my prescription back to Actonel.
