Hello,
I am new to this list. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis in
the fall of 1993 after the discovery of a goiter and several 'cold
spots' in the right lobe of my thyroid gland. In early 1994 the right
lobe was removed. I am now taking .150 mg of Synthroid daily.
Last year I was diagnosed with severe carpal tunnel syndrome in my right
hand, moderate carpal tunnel in the left. My right hand has not
responded to steroid injections and surgery is schedule for late
February. My orthopedic surgeon says this condition is often a symptom
of thyroid disease. Has anyone else experienced carpal tunnel related
to Hashimoto's and has the surgery alleviated the problem?
Thanks so much,
Marta Martin
