Thanks so much to everyone for their alternatives to Beano, which has
"wheat" on the label. Here's a summary:

Two people recommended Beanzyme, which has the same ingredients without
the wheat. It can be purchased at www.bean-zyme.com
<http://www.bean-zyme.com/>

Two people recommended pineapple bromelain, which can be found in a
supplement from TwinLabs. Or use papaya enzyme.

Other recommendations were:

Use Hyland's Upset Stomach

Cook beans with pineapple or use aseofedita powder that's been cut with
rice flour.

The homeopathic remedy Lycopodium. thirty c, two pills under the tongue
stops gas. Be aware that gas in general can indicate an allergy to a
specific food.

Walmart's Gas-X.

Phazyme, by Block Drug Company.

In cooking beans, add a one inch piece of fresh ginger to the pot and
remove it when the beans are done.

Thanks again,
Diana
