Harry's problem does sound like he has an HP system with an AMD 
processor and Windows XP SP3 got installed somehow. In that case, your 
system will go into an endless loop where it's constantly rebooting 
itself. You should be able to break into this loop and force your system 
into safe mode. Once in safe mode, you can use System Restore to go back 
to the point right before XP SP3 was installed. Obviously, you'll need 
sighted help to get into and work with safe mode.

There's a patch on Jesper Johansson's blog at 
http://msinfluentials.com/blogs/jesper/archive/2008/05/08/does-your-amd-based-computer-boot-after-installing-xp-sp3.aspx 
that you can use to check to see if you have the situation that will 
cause this problem and even patch your system. I'd recommend anyone who 
has an HP system download and install this patch before SP3 gets 
automatically installed on your system.
