Hi all,
Well, here's the latest on the jaws for windows hot key not working, for those who are interested.
Here's a piece of advice I was given by Flora and I tried it and it worked folks! It really worked.
I say it that way, because I'm stumped. Why would the jaws hot key stay when I used Narator and even work, cause I shut down Narator and brought up Jaws with control alt j.
Anyway, here's what she told me to do, it's below.
Subject: Re: [VICUG-L] jaws hot key not working, what to do?
"Use Windows narraytor to set the hot key, having unloaded JAWS. that might
fix the problem."
Anyway, anyone tell me why this worked using Narator and not using Jaws? Never seen this happen before.
Thanks Flora, for your awesome tip, and thanks all who gave me tips!
That's why I tell everybody getting into computers who's blind to get on vicug-l!
Harry

Hi all,
Well, I'm coming to the experts out there.
I use jaws for windows 8.0 on a windows xp home machine.
I shut down jaws and I press ctrl+alt+j and it doesn't launch.
?So, I then went to the hot key field and it says "none." So, I then
pressed ctrl+alt+j then tabbed down to ok and pressed enter.
I then shut down jfw and tried the hot key again, and it doesn't work.
It's like this thing is forgetting my hot key.
How do I fix this so I can launch jfw when I need it after getting done with
another application, like vip, or, Kurzweil?
Harry
