We have three computers on a peer to peer LAN. All are running Win XP Home. Spybot and Avast are installed. The only firewalls are the Win firewalls. Each computer has two shared folders with full rights. Until recently, each computer could see and access the shared folders on the other computers.
A few days ago, computer A could no longer connect to the LAN. I checked the NIC, connected to a different port on the hub, and changed the ethernet cable with no success. I set up the network connection on A again, still no luck.
So I restored the computer to an earlier date and was able to connect to the LAN. But now, computer A can see one of the two shared folders on B, but not the second folder even with the Win firewall turned off.. A cannot see either of the shared folders on C. I turned sharing off and on again on, no change.. B can see the shared folders on A but cannot open them (access denied). B and C can see and access folders on each others computer. C does not see the shared folders on A. So A seems to be the problem.
Any suggestions on how to get computer A to work properly on the LAN?
