Is there an error message displayed when you try boot up? Is it the drive it
doesn't recognize or the OS.
If it sees the drive and there is an error message what is it?
If it sees the drive boot the XP cd and select repair option. Then go to the
repair console and log into the OS on the c:\windows folder.
It will look like the old DOS screen. Once there run chkdsk /r and when it
finishes type exit and reboot without the cd in the drive.
If this operation fixed the problem it will boot just fine.
Let us know what happens.

Subject: Re: [PCBUILD] OS Crash
Good morning Venkat and thank you for your response. To answer your
question, I simply powered up the computer one morning and it was like this.
Don't recall what I was running the night before, but almost positive it was
nothing more than the internet (IE) and I always shutdown using the "turn
off" option in the Start Menu. I hope this helps, as I am still at a loss.
Thanks again!

it will help if you can give an idea as to how it "crashed". what I mean is
did it do so one fine morning when you powered up/ while running any
programs/ games/ was the system moved around somewhat prior to the crash/do
you recollect the last program or whatever you were running prior to the
crash/ was it shut down for the day ?
sometimes one gets clues from these.
good luck----Venkat
