Yes it does in a few places. The trouble is that the UK is mostly an overcrowded, over-concreted country with a density of people per square kilometre that is something like 12 times that of the US. And much of the remaining countryside is usually very barren-looking farming-land where farmers have deliberately cut out any hedges etc.
