Brother Lesi,

I do not know the VP of Nigeria, nor much about the internal workings of Nigerian politics. Having said that, my question and interest as a concerned Afriican, was meant to solicit the unknown facts of the situation from people like you and others who may know the facts. Please educate the rest of us. My reaction was directed towards the methods being used to ban this VP and only as presented in the piece. It appears to me that similar situations like this happen so often in Africa. And so the question is, is this right? Of cause I care very much if we have corrupt politicians trying to circumvent rules and stay in power when they do not so deserve. But prosecute them according to the laws of the land and if they are convicted, jail them. The selective justice as we see applied many times in African countries is what bothers me and hopefully many of us. I will be asking this same question be the situation Ghanaian, Senegalese, Ethiopian, South African or for that matter in a
ny African country. I hope your question to me does not imply that only when one knows a politician well or a given situation that they can ask questions. If you or anyone was offended by my question, that was not the intent. Again, my question was meant to solicit further discussion and education of those of us who do not know the VP or the real story behind the Nigerian government's action. If you know the facts please share them with the rest of us not so privy. Many thanks.
