To all those who rightfully complain about the inability of most of our
doctors to make a proper diagnosis; how bout sending them, or even better
bringing in our NEWCEL package? It is only through our helping educate them
that they will be better prepared to help us. I was very pleasantly suprised
when I offered that packet to my Internest and he believe that he was
grateful. I know that at least 4 Drs have had access to the material in the
last week. Maybe the next time a patient presents some of our problems they
will think of Sprue. I plan to bring a package to my gastro, who really
refuses to think about sprue. I am his only patient, with Sprue. . He really
thinks something is wrong with me that he can't identify. A pathologist is
the one that diagnosed me after biopsy looking for a growth and the gastro
acknowledges that maybe the pathologist is right. I too was given a single
sheet of paper about sprue from some old medical text book. Now I keep our
hospital dietician supplied with material from this list. The work I do might
just keep me from great misery if ever I have to goto the hospital. In
addition, maybe someone who visits any of the Doc's I give information to
will be diagnosed much sooner. I don't believe that we need an organized
effort to inform doctors. If each of us just reached out and contacted a few,
we could make a huge difference. In addition,  most of us belong to local
support groups. Maybe each of us could get our group to contact the Gastro's
in our area.
