I've posted a couple of times over the last two months about my journey
going gluten-free, and I am very thankful for the great support I received.

I am asking for opinions once again.

I've been GF now as best I can for over two months. When I get some by
accident, I know it- I get diahrea and my hands tingle like crazy. I have
lost 16 lbs and still losing, joined a gym, and no longer take any narcotics
for pain. I went from being half-dead to feeling more alive than I've felt
in years, just by changing my diet from processed foods to whole foods minus
gluten (I started out trying out GF baking too but realized it wasn't what i
was craving so now just focus on eating only the 'good' stuff).

I still have an inflamed bowel and I've noticed that it is still very
touchy; I still get a lot of gas and bloating, usually by the end of the
day. Its been suggested that I just need to build the good bacteria back up
which is what I am doing, and I fully expect it to heal 100% over time. I am
alos working through other potential food intolerances.

I didn't do the gluten challenge and redo the bloodwork, and I am guessing I
don't have h-pylori because the dr hasn't gotten back to me with the
results.

I know I have CD and don't care to challenge that knowledge. The other thing
the specialist wanted to rule out though was Crohns and thus the scheduled
x-ray series and colonoscopy (the x-rays aren't for another 3 weeks and the
colonoscopy not until August). I honestly don't want to put anything into my
body that isn't absolutely necessary (like sedation for the colonoscopy,
barium, whatever else they make you swallow for the x-rays)

So I'm sitting here wondering.. why bother with the rest of the exploratory
stuff? If it is Crohns too the only way I'd manage it is with diet and
exercise, just like I'm doing now. Even if it was cancer, that's how I would
treat it. I really want to just let this all go and continue on my wonderful
life, GF and getting better every day. The reason I want to make a decision
now is so I can free up those appointments for people who may really
need/want them.

Would love to hear thoughts. I will summarize and post my decision.

With love, Darcie
