Hi everyone,

I have a question about both short and long term management of lymphocytic colitis. It is my understanding that this is common in newly diagnosed people with celiac disease, particularly if they have had CD complications for a long time (for me it was 25plus years!). I took entocort for 3 months as I went on a GF diet. I think I have done very well staying GF considering the problems related to frequent travel, etc. I was off the entocort for a month and the diarhea started again despite being GF. I just started the entocort again and now three days later I feel great. Would love to hear the experience of others and how to manage lymphocytic colitis longterm and if it ever completely resolves.

Just a FYI: I was diagnosed by duodenal biopsy with CD in April, had a colonoscopy at the same time as the EGD and biopsy showed lymphocytic colitis. I also have duodenal and ileum chronic inflammation and ulcers from the CD being untreated for many years. The CD biopsy showed total villous atrophy, crypt hyperplasia, etc.

Thought this info would give the big picture. Thanks for input and for a wonderful listserv, it has kept me same since my diagnosis, knowing others are coping with the day to day reality of this disease.

Marge
