Basha's is a new Mediterranean restaurant very near the intersection of
Cornell and 25th. If you are on Cornell heading toward Hillsboro, turn right
on 25th and it is in a little house right behind the strip mall on the left
side. It's just opposite the Hillsboro airport, on the same street as Intel.

It is family owned, small and homey. They understand Celiac there (I've been
helping them one meal at a time!) and will tell you which of their dishes
are gluten free. So far I have eaten almost everything on their menu that
the mom says is safe, and I have never gotten sick.

They have stuffed grape leaves, kebabs, ful, roasted lamb shanks, and much
more... and everything is served with Basmati rice. They have pita bread,
but I'm going to bring them a box of Ener-G crackers to see if they'll offer
those as an alternative. The food is wonderful, reasonably priced, and very
fresh. The family works the restaurant and are very nice people. They even
offer Halal food preparation as well.

My next challenge is going to be to see if she'll try making the falafel
with xanthan gum instead of gluten to help it stick together into the balls.
Or does someone have a better idea to suggest?

Enjoy!!!
