Project DirectorNational Assistive Technology Technical Assistance
Partnership RESNA, an interdisciplinary association for the advancement of
rehabilitation engineering and assistive technology is looking for an
individual to fill a full-time position on a federally-funded grant.  The
purpose of the grant is to provide technical assistance and information to
programs funded under the Assistive Technology Act of 1998, as amended.
Entities to be served through the grant include Statewide Assistive
Technology Programs, Alternative Financing Programs, Protection and Advocacy
for Assistive Technology and others not funded under the grant. POSITION
DESCRIPTION:  The Project Director will be responsible for the day-to-day
program administration and supervision of project staff and subcontractors.
This person will report to the Executive Director of the organization.  The
goal of the technical assistance project is to provide assistance and
support that will enable the statewide Assistive Technology Projects,
Alternative Financing Programs, and Protection and Advocacy for Assistive
Technology programs to carry out their mission of increasing access to, and
acquisition of assistive technology for persons with disabilities of all
ages.   The Project Director will also maintain appropriate liaison with
external officials including the federal program specialist, agencies and
consultants to ensure that the Project is both informed and proactive with
respect to the trends and issues that contribute to the development of
technical assistance needs. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  The qualified
applicant must possess a Master's Degree and at least five years management
and supervisory experience, preferably related to assistive technology for
individuals with disabilities.  Experience is required in developing
effective technical assistance techniques and strategies for delivering
technical assistance to individual state programs as well as globally
through conferences and workshops. Skills in planning and completing
multiple tasks are needed as well as providing support to a team of
professionals.  The position also requires excellent interpersonal,
organizational and communication skills as well as political acumen.
Experience managing federal grants and knowledge of Federal rules and
regulations governing grants is helpful.  The applicant must be proficient
in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and have proven
experience with electronic communications, grant writing and fiscal
management. Moderate travel is required to attend national meetings and to
participate in on-site technical assistance activities and events. RESNA,
