I think one of the only features that isn't immediately accessible is using
the d700 with APRS.
I think i heard though that someone was successful in using the onscreen
messaging feature and getting it read out.
Not sure how much information the d700 will speak with regard to the
messages coming via the tnc.
I know that the ts2000 will speak most relevant information when using the
built in tnc.  For instance, when monitoring a dx cluster on a packet
frequency, the speech chip will anounce call sign and frequency of the
spotted station.
So, perhaps someone can enlighten the list as to how much the d700 will
speak when a packet message is received.
