Mearly opening up the receiver on a radio will not cause increased
interpherence, except perhaps on the frequencies that aren't specifically
filtered on the stock receiver.
If you cut the resistors in the kenwood dual banders, to get more receive
coverage, its not going to cause poor image rejection suddenly.
I think maybe with old receivers where you had to physically change filters
and coils to increase receive coverage the image rejection may have been an
issue.
