Hi everyone, I heard on Coast to Coast last night that the National
Weather Service is planning on making changes to the way they do severe
weather warnings. Instead of doing it by county it will be done by more
specific regions of a county, I.E. a city. I guess that this will start
on October 1, 2007.I was getting ready to consider purchasing a weather
radio, but I don't know what effect this will have on FIPS codes, and
whether or not they'll be more or changes to that. I personally like the
old way it was done by county, because after all a storm or what have you
won't stay in one region of the county, and I'd just assume get the
warning even if it isn't for my part of the county.
