Hi Tom,
I've been using a flash pen drive for over three years now and I have never
had trouble with the drive as I just pull the drive out of my u s b port
after I'm done moving files. Now there are a couple of things that you
should keep in mind. First, if you remove your flash drive and then
reinsert it, wait about a minute cause if you don't, you might end up with a
diferent drive letter. After copying files, wait until you stop hearing
action on your hard drive, usually about 10 seconds, before you remove the
flash drive. If you keep these things in mind, plug and play and flash away
with out a concern!
Merry Christmas and 73

Subject: off topic: question on proper flash drive usage
Hi, all, and Merry Christmas.
I have an interesting little dilemma here.
I just got a 2-gig flash drive to store files on that I use frequently both
at work and at home, and I am having trouble ejecting the flash drive once
I'm done using it.
I know this is a debatable issue; some say that you can take the flash
drive right out of your computer with no problem, while others say this is
very bad practice and can lead to computer problems down the road. They
insist that you must follow the "safely remove hardware" instructions and
respond accordingly with your computer to be totally sure everything is ok.
In this particular case, I get a number of messages about safely ejecting
the flash drive, but am having trouble getting to the proper buttons to do
so.
I'd appreciate anyone who has had more experience than me with this matter
giving me a bit of advice here.
For the record, I'm using Windows XP pro, and Jaws 7.0.
