I got a lot of replies, although most were for grocery stores like Trader Joes or Whole Foods. Since I didn't have a microwave (or much time) I just ate at restaurants.
What I did:
Tresca Restaurant at the Hyatt Hotel on Great America Pkwy. That was excellent and the chef prepared a special meal for me that was tasty and safe.
Maggiano’s Little Italy, Santana Row: Asked at the host stand before I got seated and they confirmed they had GF pasta available. The chef came out and asked me what I wanted and basically prepared a special meal just for me. He also delivered it to my table so that I knew what I was getting. Very good experience.
Village California Bistro, Santana Row: Showed my Triumph dining card and the chef came out and talked to me. I had the Seared Ahi salad which was wonderful.
The responses:
There are a few Whole Foods in the area, one is in Campbell off of Bascom Ave, but the only restaurant I have been to in San Jose is PF Changs and that is in downtown San Jose, close to South of Market.
Thepthai, 23 North Market Street/Henry
BoTown Chinese Restaurant
House of Siam, Fairmont
Maggiano's Little Italy, in Santana Row, gf pasta
Mike Groffs pizza crusts gf
Try Maggiano's in Santana Row. They have gluten free pasta on hand.
PF Changs at Stanford Shopping Center.
