In a message dated 97-06-25 04:03:47 EDT, you write:

<< My less than expert opinion is that a enlarged thyroid shouldn't cause
sudden onset of swallowing problems as well as sudden resolution. You
described intense problems lasting no more than a day or two? In my search
for information I learned that Sjogrens can cause the lump in the throat
sensation. It is an auto-immune condition that causes profound dryness.
I'm sure there are many other possible diagnosis that could account for
what you have going on. >>

Prior to RAI treatment and subsequent Synthroid, I had difficulty swallowing.
I had a goiter that grew inward. With treatment it was reduced and I no
longer have the problem.
