I have been contemptuous of the Jammeh Foundation since its inception for
this reason:
It is a constitutionally illegal entity.
That remains so. However, I have been doing quite a bit of review of its
ware and administration. I had some perceptions of it that have so far proved
misguided. In addition, some of my colleagues have always impressed upon me that
those perceptions are indeed true. Facts and figures and value in the lives
of other continue to prove them ill-advised to an extent. While I still
advise therefore that Mr. Jammeh endeavour to share regular statements of account
and investments, (I have found him to be pleasant and considerate in
conversation with him), I shall now focus on yielding The Foundation more value than
it has already yielded. I will not hold those perceptions anymore as I
advice the transformation of the entity to become constitutionally legal. It will
be a simple process that will include public consutation.
I have been inundated with information about the Foundation from colleagues
for over a year now, and everytime I mention the foundation, a new fellow
citizen will share an idea or two with me. The latest is when I mentioned the
foundation in relation to my friend Alieu Sanyang, no sooner did I receive more
notes from those I did not know. I intend to call the Director soon to inform
myself further and to pledge an annual contribution. I intend to continue to
advise propriety and new ideas on enhancement for I am really proud of the
mission and achievements of The Foundation. I may come to you, my colleagues,
at some point in time to solicit funds for The Foundation. I hope to also
share some of the good it is engaged in and solicit your ideas as to
enhancement. This effort will include discernments of perception.
I understand FJManneh's case is underway again, this time at the High court
in Banjul. I hope The first Lady Zeinab and the President can share ideas on
the value of dispensing with the case without prejudice. I am confident that
whatever their conclusions, the prosecution of a bungled case whose
prosecution is of no value to them and Gambia, but continues to Malign the vision and
intent of The Jammeh Foundation will become ever so evident. And they will
act accordingly. I can guarantee them that whatever their personal
consternations, I will lean on Fatou to consider a different mode of delivery of her
views. Even though I will not have been offended by what she is purported to have
said if I were in Yahya's shoes. Besides she has suffered enough and like
the Jammehs, she has children of Gambia to raise.
Haruna. God Bless.
