I believe that chocolate is mind altering.  It certainly is for me -- not a doubt in my mind (or in the minds of those around me!) -- at least in the form in which I have been eating it.  But to make it a better experiment, I am going to take William's and others' suggestions and get raw cocoa powder and consume just it with no sugar.  Will let you know what I find out.
