You're right you don't need to but every paper chaser you talk to will tell you they appreciate an SASE.  I for 
example will request an SASE when I work the NCQSO party No SASE will result in a delay in receiving a card from me 
if at all.  The curtacy will be appreciated by those to whom you send a card.
