IMO it's a moot point anyway. Just use 1-800-373-3411 (800-free-411) and it's all good. No paperwork, no muss, no fuss.

I might, however, recommend Sunrocket. It's the service I'm using, and
the only annoying thing about it is the on-hold music when you click
over to make a three-way call or answer call waiting. But for your
$24.95 ($26.25 after the whatchamacallit tax), you also get 100
minutes of calling to certain international destinations. There's a
plan to get a fairly substantial discount for a pre-paid year, too.

Anyway, you also get one or two (I forget) free directory assistance
calls, but I never use that. I used to work there and it's scarred me
for life. Anyway, try the free 411. Apart from the short commercial
announcement, it's really pretty good, and free from any phone.
