The book did mention the light from fire and highlighted it as the start of
changes to sleep/hormone patterns. Anyone who's read the book more recent
feel free to correct that if I'm wrong.

There is good evidence of the use of fire 800,000 years ago so one could
add fire as a source of light at night.
