Has anyone experienced any pain on taking prescription amounts of these? I have taking pancreatic enzymes (Creon 25000) for 5 days*. I seem to be getting a distinctive, localised stitch-like pain, high up, just left of centre, under the bottom sternal rib, where it is sensitive to touch. Ironically I usually associate this kind of pain with accidental gluten ingestion (I am not ingesting any gluten).

* Prescribed as a month's trial by my gastro following some evidence of continued fat malabsorption. I had 'successfully' been taking a low dose of hydrochloric acid (at my own suggestion) following treatment for bacterial overgrowth earlier this year, but since HCl also came with enzymes, I wanted a clinical evaluation as to whether it was the acid or the enzymes that were helping. (Personally I believe bacterial overgrowth is a more likely cause than pancreatic insufficiency but I need to give these a fair trial. Incidentally I am basically well and have no other food problems).
