Finally!!! Several years after I wrote the following article* and
advocated celiac disease researchers study the bacterial makeup in
the guts of celiac infants (identical twins in particular), a research study
has ACTUALLY been performed for the FIRST time to compare fecal
microflora between normal and celiac infants. This is only a start. I
hope there will be continued research looking at bacterial differences
in infant identical twins and looking for gluten peptides inside of
commensal bacteria using immunogold electron microscopy.
