Every time there is a digital mode thread, I get the bug to try it again.
I decided to try my old friend RTTY again.

Had great success this weekend using the MMTTY software. It's freeware and
either runs as a stand alone program to send and recieve RTTY and is also
part of some logging programs that offer RTTY operation.

I won't go into all the mind numbing details, unless someone is interested,
butI wound up using 2 computers. Main pc did logging and RTTY transmit.
Second pc took care of decoding the received signal. Same thing could
probably be done with 2 sound cards in 1 pc. Jaws set to read all did a
fine job. No repeating of incoming text as is seen in Digipan and some
other programs.

Jaws read letter by letter. Maybe not so hot for ragchew qso's, but
perfect for dxing and contesting.

Made 40 qso's in this weekends JARTS RTTY contest. 24 dxcc countries. Best
were ZC4 (British bases in Cyprus), and 7X (Algeria), both on 40 meters.

Can use a bit more tweaking, but I'm very happy to have RTTY back in my bag
of tricks.
