i shouldnt do this, looking at radios and such with no money is a disaster waiting to happen, well with me anyway lol
I was looking at dual band radios, and triband radios, but i had a few questions, one related to picking out a radio and a few to the bands themselves(2/6/440 mostly)
maybe i should have read this somewhere but i don't remember if i did and forgot or never knew. first band question; are 440 and 6 close range like 2 m where you have to have a repeater to get much of anywhere, or are they a bit farther range?
2: is the protocol or whatever, like 2 m where you just say "<call> monitoring" etc, or is it the cq a billion times thing?or totally something different?

now for the radios question:
i checked the status of the tm?707a and hro has it backordered, hasn't changed in about 6 months actually, but is there another option for a dual or tri band mobile? now, antennas(yeah the part i failed lol), do they make 2 and 3 band antennas and if they do, do the radios handle them without complaining or would i need to buy a bunch of extra stuff like a tuner and 3 separate antennas?
