I think the radials are the difference between the Ranger II and the original 
Ranger.

The original only had the ring loop on the bottom that you tapped and of course, 
the phasing thing in the middle.

since for ever. I've never known one that didn't. In fact, I just sold mine
a couple months ago and id had the radials as have every one I've ever known
of.
