Yes, you need to give them a checking account number or, I think, a credit
card--I'm not sure about this. Then, when you make a payment, the money is
automatically transferred from your checking account to the individual or
company you're making payment to. To sign up, you just go to:
http://www.paypal.com/
and go through whatever the signup process is nowadays. As I said, I've been
using it for years and honestly no longer remember the exact procedure and
anyhow, I'm sure it's changed since I first joined.

Thank you for the information on pay pal. I have never quite understood how
it worked. I think they want your checking account number when you sign up
but I am not sure about that either. How does one sign up with them?
