Ken,

Could it be Linda is partially right and you are partially right? The
companies (and doctors) are passing the costs of lawsuits onto consumers.
Until we understand that lawsuits are punishments and ought not to be passed
on to consumers, companies can do it. I believe the only way to fix this is
to limit both price hikes and lawsuits, to make the C.E.O.'s more
accountable, and to make companies take the punishment instead of passing it
on the consumers.

While I think many lawsuits can be dismissed as frivolous, the sad fact is
that unless the threat of a lawsuit is there, most corporations just
wouldn't care. Would you care to go back to the late 19th-early 20th
century before the F.D.A? That's what it seems like. Most conservatives
seem to want to destroy all government regulations.

you only have to go north of the u.s. border to know
how good our privatised system is. it can't be better
to have people die waiting on needed care. we can't
afford the government running it. sorry, but, you are
just plain wrong here just like you are with bush.
sorry lynda.
