To my knowledge, there are only a couple of HT's that have ever been  
produced that would do SSB. One was a line that was marketed by  
several companies in the U.S. and made by, I think, Mizuho (or  
something like that), another by Tokyo High Power, and finally,n HT  
sold as Santec LS-202. All of these are obscure, and none is made  
anymore, I don't think; if an SSB handheld *is* made, it isn't sold  
anywhere in North America. Too bad, really--I think it'd be kind of fun.
