The following brands often appear on MANY lists around and about the
internet as brands we can trust to list all gluten among their
product ingredients.

NOT SO.

This does not mean that these companies make no products free of
gluten. However, it does mean that you cannot personally determine
that by reading their ingredients labels. You will need to obtain a
copy of the GF product lists that some of them offer, or else call
them on a product-by-product basis, providing the product name and
UPC codes.

***Campbells --
Definitely do not list gluten on their labels. Campbell's has a
fairly short list of products they consider to be GF. One has to
request it by phone; it's not published on the internet or nor will
they send by e-mail. (Brands include: Campbell's, Franco-American,
Prego, Swanson, Pepperidge Farm, Pace, V8, Spaghetti-os.)

***Hershey --
Definitely do not list all gluten, per phone conversation with a
senior customer service rep 10/06. You must call company with UPC
codes for any information now. Also, at this time, if "natural
flavors" is listed on the label, Hershey's says they are unable to
tell us if it has gluten or not, even on request.

***Hormel --
Do not necessarily list all gluten among ingredients -- only wheat.
However, they do publish a fairly extensive list of foods containing
no gluten at: http://hormel.com/faq/faqList.asp?catitemid=41 --
however, you cannot tell from just reading the labels of these
brands. (Brands: DI LUSSO, CHI-CHI'S Mexican Products, HERDEZ
Authentic Mexican Products, HOUSE OF TSANG Asian Sauces and Oils,
MANNY'S Tortilla Products, MARRAKESH EXPRESS Mediterranean Products,
PATAK'S Indian Products. PELOPONNESE Mediterranean Products, DINTY
MOORE Products, HERB-OX Bouillon, SPAM Family of Products, STAGG
Chili, JENNIE-O TURKEY STORE Turkey Products, LITTLE SIZZLERS Pork
Sausage, LLOYD'S BBQ Products)

***Seneca Foods --
Per e-mail and phone conversation (12/13/06), Seneca will only
guarantee to list wheat, and not other gluten. (Seneca brands
include also some but not all Libby's products, Aunt Nellie's and
Stokley.)

***Smucker's/R.W. Knudsen: Per telephone call on 12/11/06, this
company is unable to determine if gluten other than wheat is present
in most of their products. They currently have a short list of
products that they have deemed to be GF, but none of their beverages
or jams/jellies/preserves are on this list, and they will not provide
any statement of whether or not these products contain gluten. You
can request the list of GF products by phone, and they will read it
to you (the list is made up mostly of their ice-cream toppings.)

* Please remember some posters may be WHEAT-FREE, but not GLUTEN-FREE *
