Morey,

The first thing I would do is go to the HP site and see if they have a 
more current driver for your printer than the one on the XP CD.
It that doesn't solve the problem then I would ask HP.  They have a nice 
and easy "Contact " by e-mail option.  I have used it several times to
ask a question.  I hope this helps you.
