Butch,

I think you meant the NCX-3.  That was a triband xcvr, I think 80, 40, and 
20.  It had a strange mike connector, I think it was a 3/16 connector, not 
the standard quarter-inch.

I did have an NC-300, my first purchase as a Novice.  It was a nice 
receiver, once I got it tuned properly and learned to use the filters and 
BFO.

But, what a boat anchor, I'll bet all of sixty pounds.
