Hello:

I received a call this morning from someone who is using Windows XP and
Window-Eyes. She tried downloading something from Wikipedia. When she
got to the file name box where she could choose to accept or change the
downloaded file name, then tabbed to see what folder her file would be
going in too, she tabbed back to the file name box and noticed that XP
had put a file extension of .brf on the file name, even though this was
supposed to be a text file. She had to re-name the file something else
to get it to stop doing that as she has a file with the same name and
the .brf extension already on her computer.

Is this some kind of a Windows XP option and if so, where can one go to
turn it off? She said this happens only in Internet Explorer. I went
through Internet Options and couldn't find any option that looked like
it did something like this. I also looked through File and Folder
options and didn't find anything obvious.

Thanks in advance for any help,
