Hi Kat,
I suppose one could say selfish - but some people just seem to be
born without the empathy caring gene for others. I have stayed static on
my views - I am pro-choice for others not myself. Amber holds the same
view. I firmly believe there are people who don't need to have children
and it is only a gift to the child - to return them to the Goddess who
will then bestow them on someone else or if you are Christian - go to
play with Jesus in the fields of Heaven. Life philosophy has lot to do
with how we look at ethical issues.
There are things worse than death - however I sincerely doubt having a
disability or a disabled child rates on that scale - having said that -
I have concerns that disabled people who are resented - they must have
twice as bad a time as an able bodied child - who eventually gets away
from the abuser. The question doesn't have an easy - one answer fits
all. We have no compunction to put out deathly ill or decrepitly old
animals to sleep yet we deny people this - and are suppose to be
compassionate.
I prayed for death - Kat - when I was being beaten and raped and told
what a worthless piece of trash I was - and this by my parents - and I
am under 5 years of age at the time. We have a long way to go before we
are actually civilized. Every child a wanted child..... I say.
