No, as far as I know, the VS3 doesn't give info *from* athe TNC. It gives info like frequency, S-meter, and menu settings; that would include the packet settings menus.
You need to interface it with a computer to run any of the digital modes.

Seems I'm seeing more and more ts2000 used out there. I've been very
fortunate or blessed that I never had a problem with used gear.
Someone earlier mentioned that the vs3 gives info from the tnc. You still
need to connect a pc to actually use the tnc correct? Is the vs3 info just
basic menu info?
