this will be my third dog, first from the seeing eye.
Yes, they are worth more then their weight in gold.
I had to retire my last guide after having her only a year because she
wanted to be a pet more then a guide dog.
There was just something a little uncomfortable about her wanting to use the
street instead of the sidewalk because there was less snow on the
street...which, while an intelligent choice, less snow, clear path, it
wasn't exactly safe for either of us in four lanes of traffic hi hi.
So, now I am relligated to cane use which is enough to make me want to
permanetly destroy all canes....I think it is something akin to the braw
burning in the 60/70's.
