Ok, so what is a U3-enabled enable thumb drive? How large should it
be? Can it exist with other data on the drive as well?

Yes, the only problem is the installation isn't completely intuitive as
you=20
noted. Also, you need to have administrative rights.
I don't know why others can't implement the solution that Mobile System
Access=20
has done. You put the executable program on a U3-enabled thumb drive,
and just=20
plug it in. In about 30 seconds, you have a screen reader which
supports XP and=20
2000, e-mail, internet, most of the office applications, etc. And, it's
half=20
the price of a full fledged screen reader.

I use this for occasional work around the office where I need to have
JAWS or MAGIC on a workers computer for a short time. Since we do not
have JAWS loaded formally on these systems I must run in 40 minute mode
but it does the trick and if you are using your key there is no
additional cost. =3D20
I can also take this to any computer outside of the office and run JAWS
or magic in demo mode as long as I load the video intercept first. This
is all done from the command line with memorized command lines. =3D20
This is truly useful when I want to review a document at church my
Dad's or sister's or son-in-law's computers. =3D20
I can offten diagnose a problem with their systems and fix it in 15
minutes or so. =3D20
I had looked at doing this with the pocket HAL but as I am familiar with
JFW the learning curve not to mention the additional investment is more
atractive. It is my understanding that this has been possible for some
time but not advertised until recently. =3D20
