hello,
I have sort of a porblem, more of an inconvenience than a problem, but if anyone knows whats wrong, let me know
I have my linux box set up with its own subdomain, well, one of the many i wish to point at it but, i also have a router. I wanted to send some files to it via windows ftp but the strange thing is, i can put a line in ftp like "open nifty.selfip.net" and it will connect, but 15 seconds or so later the box drops it, but if i ftp with my ip, e.g the ip that the machine is given by the router, i can connect and log on and it doesn't drop at all and things are all happy,
any clue as to why this might be happening?
i have tried both proftp and vsftp in linux
matt
