Hi Lou;

It is no more difficult to set a pl tone on this radio as it is to set it on 
the 2000.

Just write a repeater with a pl tone to the vfo.

Their is a little problem though because you need to turn the vfo dial to 
set the pl.

But, if you have sighted help it's not so bad.

Also, I understand their are programs available to input memories and there 
respective coordinates.

Plus you'll have the radio to go with the power supply.
