I do think the older commercial radios have great audio especially if you
had a good external speaker designed for that particular radio. As
the early ones were wide band I can understand why the sound was good.
I also ran some WBFM on commercial frequencies for the Red Cross and NAVY
MARS on 46 and 38 MHZ which was a lot of fun as well.
