Hi all!
My blood tests have been coming back lately that I am receiving too much
synthroid. I am having symptoms that I am not getting enough. Today my
endo decided that we need to LOWER my dose. I have been on .125 now she
wants to keep me on that - but take it only 6 days a week.
How can this be? I had a TOTAL THYROIDECTOMY in July of '94. For a
while I was on .15 (where I felt the best). Then they dropped my dosage
down to .125. They could never explain to me why I suddenly needed
less. Then 2 years later, I need less again? HOW??? There is no
thyroid tissue to be making hormones of it's own - along with what I
take. I only take 1 pill a day. What could be happing that my body
needs less and less? I am extremely scared. I have been a complete
wreck since I got the news this morning. I feel like my body will
completely shut down. My endo even tried to tell me that my symptoms
were from hyper. (cold, memory loss, etc.)
I no longer have any faith in the healthcare system. I am 30 and feel
like I will die (probably pretty slowly and miserably) from this. Sorry
to sound like I am whining, but I can't believe this!! I don't have any
where else to turn to and I am scared.
