Ned the nodule is taking a brief break for the weekend, but he will
reappear soon, folks, with plenty of insight for you from the perspective
of a thyroid nodule under siege. My husband, on the other hand, is planning
to have me committed soon if I don't stop this, but I am sure having fun!
As far as Synthroid is concerned, let me put in my two cents. Its effects
on you are rather insidious. At first you feel fine, but then you start to
gain weight, slowly, as many others have said. And, your mental processes
are dulled. I didn't realize why I was totally disinterested in many of my
hobbies that I used to be passionate about, like gardening and cooking
ethnic meals. I fell into a totally lethargic state, but I was still able
to function, so I didn't panic. Now, after reading your various e-mail, I
am able to put it together.
I don't think I will be fortunate enough to be able to persuade my endo to
proscribe Armor for me, but I will put together a kind of portfolio of
information when I see him in three weeks. Right now I am off SYnthroid,
and taking two different kinds of homeopathic remedies for the thyroid.
They both contain Thyroidinum. It's allegedly made from the thyroid of a
sheep. I say allegedly because I certainly don't know for sure. If my
writing gets really weird, you'll know why, but I have to admit I'm feeling
so much more energetic and focussed. This is particularly helpful when you
are a teacher of young children. Have a good weekend!
